You need to re-design your website. Maybe NOW

By admin In Mobile, Web Design Posted October 23, 2015

  1. Is your website width still 800px or 960px?
Monitors are getting wider and resolution is getting higher. You are not using the additional space to your advantage, and your website might even look small and not friendly to navigate in today’s monitors.
  2. Is your homepage displaying Flash animation, or worse, the whole website in Flash?
IPhones do not display Flash, and majority of mobile Users are using Apple products. Those Users are not accessing the information that you are presenting in Flash animations.

  3. Is your website mobile-friendly?
If your answer to the previous 2 questions is No, likelihood your website is not mobile-friendly. More Users surf on-the-go via their mobile device now. Furthermore, Google has made it a factor in rankings. Make this your priority!

  4. Is your website still displaying pixelated animated gifs?
Monitors and tablet screens are now moving on to High Definition. The animated gifs would not look good on them. This interrupts User experience and might influence the Users to leave the website.
  5. You can’t add content or images/videos on your own?
Modern web technology now allows website owners to update themselves via a Content Management System. If you still need to wait for someone to update for you, you are wasting time.
  6. Have you put links to your social media networks?
Many people are now on social media networks, and this makes it easier for them to connect to you if you have provided on your website some links to your network profiles. If you haven’t done this yet, you are losing potential customers who have found your competitors instead!

  7. Your company has a new branding and the website does not match the marketing collateral.
Everything should be changed to reflect your new branding; the look and feel of the website, navigation and the content. Even a single logo change would affect the rest of website in terms of color and style.
  8. Your website looks like the trend 10 years ago.
Web technology changes quickly with the times. If your website does not display the updated technology, it looks less professional to web-savvy Users. They probably won’t hang around to check out the rest of the website and you are losing potential customers.
